The Canelo vs Charlo build-up begins today with a massive event streamed live from New York’s world-famous Times Square.

Canelo Alvarez, the undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo Álvarez, and Jermell Charlo – the undisputed super welterweight king, will be on full display in Midtown Manhattan.

The press conference begins today at 1 pm ET when their New York City live event beams on two outdoor billboards overlooking Times Square.

All Canelo vs Charlo exchanges will be visible to thousands on the Paramount Twins LED Billboards at 1515 Broadway between 44th and 45th Street at the Paramount Global building.

Canelo vs Charlo New York press conference

Canelo and Charlo meet face-to-face today in the first leg of their coast-to-coast media tour to kick off their September 30 super fight.

When the first bell rings, Canelo’s undisputed 168-pound titles will be up for grabs. Today’s press conference will take place at the Palladium Times Square.

The two billboards will be one facing south above the 44th Street entrance. The other faces north at the 45th Street entrance. They both will air highlights of Canelo and Charlo’s best fights starting at noon, leading into the 1 pm press conference.

The two video displays will air more highlights of both fighters from 2 pm to 3 pm following the presser.

It’s the second time that SHOWTIME® has live-streamed a boxing press event atop a Times Square billboard. Canelo vs Charlo follows the Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford kick-off press conference in June.

What titles will Canelo and Charlo fight for?

Canelo and Charlo will fight for the undisputed super middleweight championship on September 30 at T-Mobile Arena. The SHOWTIME PPV® is an event presented by Premier Boxing Champions.

Canelo has amassed one of the best resumes of his generation at only 33 years old. He will make the third consecutive defense of his WBC, WBA, IBF, and WBO super middleweight world titles. #

The Mexican faces the 154-pound master Charlo. It’s the first matchup of the four-belt era pitting two reigning undisputed champions against each other.

However, the winner will not become the new Pound for Pound number one. Terence Crawford has that position on lock after battering Errol Spence Jr.

The boxing superstars will also meet tomorrow at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, streaming live on the SHOWTIME SPORTS digital channels.

In addition to appearing on the large displays, Tuesday’s press conference will stream live on the SHOWTIME SPORTS® YouTube channel, SHOWTIME Boxing® Facebook page, and Premier Boxing Champions YouTube channel.
