Amir Khan combats social media hack as Twitter name is altered
Just two days after announcing the biggest fight of his life against Canelo Alvarez on May 7 in Las Vegas, Amir Khan has been the victim of social media hacking.
On Thursday, posts began to appear picturing near naked women, sexual positions and celebrity gossip, whilst Khan’s original Twitter account had been switched and left with just two followers.
Usually going by the Twitter name ‘@AmirKingKhan’, the handle read ‘@AmirKingKha1 as fans of the talented Briton were bombarded with random posts.
Khan, 29, apologised publicly as the feed went back to normal a short time later following help from Twitter and Facebook officials.
The Bolton man is gearing up for a huge challenge against WBC middleweight champion Canelo, moving up eight pounds in weight to take on one of the world’s best pound for pound fighters.
