Oscar De La Hoya opened up about one of his most controversial incidents after blaming his struggles with substance abuse.

De La Hoya has moved to explain how genuine images of him dressed in a fishnet onesie and high heels leaked on the internet.

The boxing promoter and head of Golden Boy Promotions admitted the photographs were real after initially denying their authenticity.

De La Hoya says he was caught off guard by a woman but had blacked out and had no memory of putting on the outfit. The ten-time world champion says he just ended up in lingerie and has no clue how it happened.

Speaking to interviewer Kelly Ripa, De La Hoya answered tough questions on the podcast. Ripa began by asking him about his drink and drug-fuelled amnesia.

How did Oscar De La Hoya end up in women’s lingerie?

“A perfect example is the incident when those pictures came out. When the famous pictures of me wearing lingerie and women’s underwear and this and that. But I have no clue what happened. I have no clue whatsoever,” De La Hoya told Let’s Talk Off Camera on SiriusXM.

“I remember when I first met that girl, which is [talked about] in the documentary “Talking.” We found her somewhere in Costa Rica, hiding somewhere this day, and it [the incident] happened fifteen years ago.

“I remember when I would call her, obviously the intentions were, “I’m going to get with her, we’re probably going to have sex, whatever, this and that.”

“But, it always ended up as me always crying to her and wanting a hug, and she says, “Oscar was odd, and it was weird because all he did, all he wanted to do is just like cry and talk.”

Asked if that’s just who he is when he gets that hammered, De La Hoya answered: “Yeah,” before stating, “I’m not, and that’s not me,” to a further quizzing on assault allegations.

“The accusations are exactly what they are, accusations, and it’s never true.”

On the photographs themselves, De La Hoya believes somebody must have either helped him put them on or dressed him like that intentionally.

“Do you know how difficult that would be to put on? – I mean, it had not one rip on it. It was like perfectly put on. I mean, I wish I had known what happened.

“I was just, I just do not know what happened. It’s funny because I talked to my girlfriend Holly about it, and she’s like, “Wait a minute. I’ve worn that. That’s impossible to put on without ripping or tearing.”
