Floyd Mayweather says the worst thing he ever did led him down the path to becoming the first billionaire fighter on the planet.

In an eye-watering interview after his professional career ended, Mayweather blasted Bob Arum and his Top Rank promotional team.

The 44-year-old grandpa revealed his career-low when asked explicitly about the subject.

Mayweather told Fighthype.com: “As of today, the worst thing I ever did in my career was a sign with Top Rank. One of my family members was money hungry and went behind my back. That’s the worst thing I ever did.

“The worst thing I did was a sign with Top Rank because I was destined to be big anyway. I was destined to be a superstar anyway.”

He continued: “Bob Arum is a bitter b***h. ‘You made more money off of fighters than fighters make. So be happy with that. Go live your life and chill.

During the 2018 rant, Floyd Mayweather laid further into Arum about his treatment of fighters. Terence Crawford said something similar about the Hall of Famer after his last fight with Top Rank.

“You’re that old. You’re almost 90 years old, and you still want more money?

“Listen, I can’t buy anything else. What the f*** are you trying to buy at 90? You can’t buy anything else at 90. Do you want a new suit? Why do you want a new suit when you’ve got 40 years’ worth of suits.”

The statement was the most evident admission by Mayweather that he was best-served carving out his career path. Mayweather continues to make money from exhibitions.

Breaking away from Top Rank to sign with Showtime ended up costing Mayweather three-quarters of a million dollars. However, he made more than a billion at the box office.

Mayweather will fight this September on a RIZIN FF bill in Tokyo again.
