A purse offer was held today in New York for the WBC heavyweight interim championship bout Alexander Povetkin vs Bermane Stiverne.

The winning promoter was World of Boxing. They made a bid of 3,165,000 dollars.

The purse offered for the mandatory defense of WBC heavyweight silver champion Johann Duhaupas against Carlos Takam was held today in New York.

The winning promoter was OPI2000, Salvatore, and Christian Cherchi. They made a bid of 235,000 dollars.

Despite reports of Luis Ortiz facing Takam on November 12 in Monaco, WBN has been assured this fight is not on the table.

“There is no Takam fight for Luis Ortiz because Johann Duhaupas is the silver champion. Takam’s team just won the purse for the WBC silver.

“That fight happens now,” Duhaupas manager Mehdi Ameur told World Boxing News exclusively.

“Ortiz will have to fight someone else in Monaco. I am sure of that,” he added.

Povetkin vs. Stiverne

Regarding Povetkin v Stiverne, the former could still be stripped of mandatory status.

Even if the Russian defeats the former Canadian title holder, a hearing regarding a meldonium test will take place in February.
