Jack Summers gears up for second pro outing

The 20 year-old made his professional debut in July, defeating Qasim Hussain on points, and is back in action on Black Country Boxing’s ‘The Avengers’ show at Walsall Town Hall this weekend.

“I really enjoyed my professional debut,” Summers told www.uko-boxing.com. “The support was great. The pro game suits me better because you have time to think and pick your shots and that’s what I’m best at.”

The West-Bromwich boxer takes on Leeds’ Russ Midgeley over four rounds and has enjoyed a number of sparring sessions with Paul Holt, who headlines ‘The Avengers’ show.

“My training camp has gone really well,” he added. “I have been putting in the work and pushing myself to the limit. I’ve been doing a lot more sparring for this one as well. I have shared the ring with Paul Holt and felt comfortable, so that was a good feeling.

“I don’t really know a lot about my opponent. I watched him get stopped at The Venue in Birmingham not so long back and he didn’t have anything that night that worries me.

“I’m ready to put on a show and give the fans an edge of the seat action-packed fight.”

Tickets, priced at £30 and £60 Ringside, are available from Walsall Town Hall Box Office on 0845 111 2900.

Holt headlines the show against Swindon’s Joe Beeden over four rounds as he looks to make a winning start to life under the Black Country Boxing banner.

West Bromwich middleweight, Tom Stokes, steps in with Telford’s Kieran Gray and West Bromwich heavyweight, Matt Gordon, takes on Czech Republic’s Jindrich Valecky

Completing ‘The Avengers’ line-up are debutants Luke Walker and Leon Brown. Birmingham light middleweight Walker takes on Yeovil’s Bryn Wain whilst Wolverhampton light heavyweight, Brown, debuts against Lincoln’s Mitch Mitchell.
