Mayweather, 37, has offered Khan a fight against Broner on the undercard to his clash with Argentine Marcos Maidana in two months after just missing out on sealing the Showtime pay-per-view headliner himself.
The 27-year-old is currently scouting an opponent. He says he’ll be returning to the ring in late April or early May following one year out.
Broner is already being touted as one of the names in the frame.
All Golden Boy fighters between 140 and 147, including Luiz Collazo, Devon Alexander, Pablo Cesar Cano, Lamont Peterson, Humberto Soto, and Roberto Guerrero, are all potential opponents for Khan.
However, Mayweather’s close ties with GBP can influence putting him in the ring with Broner as ‘Money’ has now suggested.
“I don’t have an easy fight on May 3rd. So I can’t overlook Marcos Maidana. But Amir Khan, if you and Adrien Broner end up fighting each other on my show and you win (which you won’t) – I’ll fight you,” Mayweather stated on Monday.
Broner recently suffered his first defeat to Maidana after losing a unanimously to the WBA welterweight champion late last year. Khan would be expected to do a similar job to land the Mayweather encounter.

After dancing to Mayweather’s tune for the best part of four months and being ultimately left disappointed, it is debatable that Khan will want to keep on jumping through hoops to earn the biggest payday of his career.
The pull of sharing a bill with Mayweather has its own benefits for Khan’s career. It could be the deciding factor in the Bolton man’s imminent decision.
Whether we see Broner in the opposite corner on May 3, though, is an entirely different story.
Khan suggested the contest to Mayweather a day before the American’s retort. However, Broner would have the final say on exchanging contracts for any bout with the ex-light-welterweight champion.
