The ban related to a positive test for drostanolone in the wake of Tarver’s IBO cruiserweight title draw with Lateef Kayode, after which the 44 year-old was stripped of the belt he ripped away from the now-current champion Danny Green.
The ‘Magic Man’ is now eyeing a swift return once his punishment is served in June, and although Tarver has always protested his innocence, the American is ready to re-focus on his career.
“(In regards to a fight, there is) nothing concrete yet, but I am continuing training because I’ll be ready no later than July,” Tarver explained to World Boxing News today.
Tarver may look for a warm-up to shake off any ring rust on contesting what will be his 37th career bout in the coming months, before a sixth world title belt will surely be in sight for the talented southpaw.
