Smith vs Eubank 2 undercard complete with double addition

Former unified world super-featherweight champion Mikaela Mayer and Olympic gold medalist Lauren Price MBE are on the title trail next month when they take to the ring as part of the ‘Smith vs Eubank II: Repeat or Revenge?’ undercard confirmed today for the Saturday, September 2nd Sky Sports Box Office pay-per-view event.

Mayer (18-1-, 5 KO’s), who held the WBO and IBF World Super-Featherweight Championships until a controversial October 2022 loss to bitter rival Alycia Baumgardnerwill continue her campaign back to world title contention in a bout which will be closely watched by British rival Caroline Dubois.

Dubois will be ringside as the Top Rank-promoted Mayer locks horns with former EBU European super-lightweight champion Silvia Bortot (11-2, 3 KO’s), with Dubois having recently called for a showdown with Mayer as she seeks marquee-name fights in 2024.

Also confirmed today for the September 2nd card is 2020 Olympic gold medalist Lauren Price MBE (4-0, 1 KO). The Welshwoman has been linked with a possible near-future showdown with recently-crowned welterweight champion Natsha Jonas and heads to Manchester intent on extending her perfect professional record and moving closer to contention.

“Mikaela Mayer is a world class competitor and we’re delighted to announce her addition to what was already a stacked undercard for this ‘Smith vs Eubank II: Repeat or Revenge?’ blockbuster pay-per-view event,” said Ben Shalom, BOXXER CEO.

“Mayer was a big hit with British fight fans on her last visit here but one person she didn’t impress was Caroline Dubois. We know Caroline will be ringside in Manchester for this bout and she’s had some things to say about Mayer recently, so if Mayer wins on September 2nd then maybe we see those two square off in 2024.

“The achievements of Lauren Price MBE speak for themselves. She’s an elite competitor and while some people might think it’s early for her to be talking about professional titles, she’s a world-class talent and she sees no point in waiting around. She will be looking to make a statement in Manchester and I’m sure Natasha Jonas will be watching closely.”

SMITH vs EUBANK II: Repeat or Revenge is headlined by bitter rivals Liam ‘Beefy’ Smith and Chris Eubank Jr returning to the ring eight months on from the electrifying January encounter which ended with a Smith stoppage victory after a frenetic four-round firefight.

The event takes place Saturday, September 2nd at the AO Arena Manchester and airs live and exclusively in the UK as a Sky Sports Box Office pay-per-view event, available to Sky Sports subscribers and non-subscribers alike. The event also airs live and exclusively in the USA on ESPN+.

Mayer and Price complete a card which also features super-lightweight sensation Adam Azim against dangerous Ukrainian Aram Fanyan, a big domestic heavyweight clash between Frazer Clarke (7-0, 5 KO’s) and David Allen (25-5-2, 18 KOs), a welterweight encounter between ‘The Albanian King’ Florian Marku (12-0-1, 7 KO’s) and Irish rival Dylan Moran (18-1, 8 KO’s) plus British super-middleweight champion Mark Heffron (29-2-1, 23 KO’s) defending his belt against gritty challenger Jack Cullen (21-4-1, 9 KO’s).
