Tony Bellew a 5/1 outsider to pull off David Haye shock

On 4th March David Haye will come up against Tony Bellew at the O2 in the biggest British bout of 2017 so far. BetStars Director of Trading Ian Marmion runs through the betting for the ill-tempered showdown…

Haye 1/7 favourite to beat Bellew
“David Haye is the overwhelming favourite for victory on Saturday, being placed at 1/7. It will be the first time that Bellew steps into the ring as a heavyweight so he may find himself out of his depth when he comes up against the Hayemaker. If you fancy the outsider bet, the Liverpool man is available at a big 5/1,” said BetStars Director of Trading Ian Marmion.

Haye to win by KO/TKO, 3/10
“Both of Saturday’s fighters are powerful, however Haye is very well established in the heavyweight division and newcomer Bellew may need to adjust to the increased punching power. If Bellew is going to get a victory on Saturday, the most likely route is via Decision or Technical Decision as Haye will expect his chin to withstand whatever Bellew throws at it,” said BetStars Director of Trading Ian Marmion. “Bellew to win by Decision or Technical Decision is 14/1 with BetStars, however, the money suggests a commanding win for Haye and he is 3/10 to win by KO/TKO.”

Haye priced 11/2 to win in rounds 7-9
BetStars Director of Trading Ian Marmion said: “If you’re looking for value in this fight, calling the round of victory is worth a look. It seems many people are predicting an early stoppage from Haye, but Bellew won’t go down easily and will want to force Haye further. A Haye win in rounds 7-9 looks like a good bet and is priced at 11/2. If you fancy slightly higher odds, then a Haye KO in rounds 10-12 is available at 12/1.”
