Gennady Golovkin v Kell Brook: A closer look at the fight odds

The middleweight king travelled to the UK this week for his debut on British soil against Kell Brook and is a best-priced 1/6 on to come away from London with his clutch of titles, therefore preserving his undefeated record.

Golovkin, 33, boasts 32 stoppages from 35 wins and holds the highest knockout ratio of any middleweight for some years. ‘GGG’ was at one point favoured as much at 1/10, although that has since been squeezed into 1/9 by 10BET.

Opponent and predominant welterweight Brook has been hovering at around 9/2 and 5/1 with most odds makers but ‘The Special One’ is favoured slightly more as a 4/1 shot with high street betting shops at Ladbrokes, Coral, BetVictor, Stan James and William Hill.

The draw is the usual 25/1 with most, whilst SkyBet and PaddyPower have gone as high as 40’s for the pair to fight for twelve rounds without a winner.

A mass of cash is expected to be wagered as fight week truly gets into the swing, with a Brook victory or a Golovkin KO in selected or group rounds set to see some happy punters collecting their winnings.
