Sulaiman says Canelo vs Golovkin just simmering, fight will happen

World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman knows that the fight between WBC middleweight champion Saul Canelo Alvarez and WBC interim middleweight champion will happen down the line.

The WBC President thinks that all the comments, anticipation, and speculation only tend to increase the heat of the clash, as is always the case when great bouts are close to the cusp.

“The fights are simmered, heated, and broiled in various ways. It took some time to realize Chavez- vs Camacho – six years!

“Mayweather-Pacquiao six, “Canelo”-Cotto 2 years,” he commented.

“The fight between Saul and Gennady is natural. They know each other and have talked directly. We know they already want to get inside the ring to fight.

“They both want the fight. We don’t speculate with comments of thirds, as the WBC is guided only by facts.

“The idea and the plan is to have the expected fight after their voluntary defenses in April or May.”

Canelo vs Golovkin, when it happens, could be one of the greatest fights in recent memory. It’s one the fans are waiting for with open arms.

Two of the best of their generation are ready to put on a show – when the time is right.
