Prichard Colon in a bad way following Terrel Williams loss
Young Puerto Rican Prichard Colon has undergone surgery following a bruising battle with Terrel Williams on Premier Boxing Champions this Saturday night, his brother Ricardo has confirmed to WBN.
The 23-year-old was fighting on the undercard of Lamont Peterson’s majority decision victory over Felix Diaz Jr.
After the fight, medics took Colon to Inova Fairfax hospital after Williams dropped him twice when he lost via a ninth-round disqualification.
Colon’s corner mistakenly pulled his gloves off before the tenth round leaving the referee Joseph Cooper with no choice but to award Williams the win.
It was coming on the scorecards anyway, following an earlier two-point deduction for a low blow.
The reverse means a first defeat in seventeen bouts for the promising welterweight. Williams moved his own record to 15-0.
‘Digget’ experienced vomiting and dizziness in his dressing room after the Williams fight.
He was eventually diagnosed with a bleed on the brain that required immediate attention.
Several of his fellow professionals, including super welterweight Erislandy Lara, have already asked fans to pray for Colon.
Furthermore, Prichard Colon is now in a coma and fighting for his life.
