Frustration over David Haye evident at Tyson Fury press conference
The recent Manchester press conference held to promote his upcoming rematch with Dereck Chisora seemed all too much for Tyson Fury as the unbeaten heavyweight’s year of inactivity came to ahead.
Itching the get back in the ring, the 25 year-old snapped before the media proceedings could fully get underway.
Those present at the presser witnessed Fury tip over a table full of dictaphones and drinks before storming out.
Although Fury’s foul-mouthed rant was nothing new, the manner of his outpouring of rage revealed all. Those continued frustrations at not being able to fight former world champion David Haye came out.
Londoner Haye, 33, pulled out of their scheduled contest not once but twice. The situation left Fury facing up to an extended period on the sidelines at one of the most critical points in his career to date.
With his WBC ranking suffering as a result and Bermane Stiverne, Chris Arreola, and Deontay Wilder overtaking him in the chase for Vitali Klitschko’s former belt, fireworks are expected from Fury once he shares the ring with Chisora for a second time.
The first time the two met, they were still both wet behind the sport’s ears. Their physiques on the night showed this.
Fury still managed to prove his dominance over the twelve rounds and aim to do the same again on July 26.
TYSON FURY FIRE
Contracts for the encounter state that neither fighter can take another bout leading up to the rematch. This will only serve to add fuel to Fury’s fire.
However, the former British and Irish champion will have to channel his anger in the right way to succeed against a revitalized Chisora.
‘Del Boy’ has certainly put himself right back in the mix by getting in the best shape possible. Plus, stringing together some impressive performances.
This breeds confidence Chisora will certainly need to fend off his irate domestic rival.
The summer fight at the Phones 4U Arena doesn’t really need any negative publicity as an extra selling point.
The charismatic Fury is concerned, which goes with the territory, although what may happen before and during the fight will keep fans on the edge of their seats for sure.
