Improving to 4-0, Hull-native Campbell did what he had to do to get the job done and won every session after what was a late opponent change to draft in the Welshman.

The 26 year-old is now set to be stepped up in class on the back of a successful first year in the pro ranks – with titles certain to follow for the talented lightweight in 2014.

Also on the Phones 4U Arena card, Anthony ‘Million Dollar’ Crolla overpowered a past-his-best Stephen Foster Jnr in a Manchester derby as the highly-rated fighter edges towards a possible fight with Ricky Burns in the next twelve months.

At 27, trainer Joe Gallagher is keen to push Crolla on to world level as soon as possible and WBO champion Burns was ringside to witness the former British title holder halt Foster after six completed rounds.

The relentless Crolla constantly wore down Foster with some crunching body shots and forced the 33 year-old, along with his coach Jamie Moore, to make the decision to retire before the seventh began.

Prior to the nights two world title fights, Irishman Andy Lee eased to a second round victory over a hapless Ferenc Hafner. A late addition to the bill, Lee dropped the Hungarian three times on his way to 31st win from 33 bouts
