Ex-Tyson foe Julius Francis one-punch KO’s angry man

Julius Francis once got stopped by the great Mike Tyson after claiming British honors during a respectable career during the 1990s.

Retiring in 2006, Francis ended up being a journeyman but does hold a victory over Danny Williams, the man who defeated Tyson at the back end of his career.

A further career highlight [or lowlight] was a two-round stoppage at the hands of Vitali Klitschko.

But sixteen years on, and a few pounds later, Francis, 57, proved he’s still got that one-punch knockout factor with a haymaker at BoxPark in London. Francis heads up security at the venue and had a little more trouble than he bargained for recently.

Staff tried to deal with an unruly man who caused trouble outside the park, and things began to escalate to physicality. The wily Francis positioned himself within distance to take care of any altercation.

As the man turned towards the staff again on the back of throwing a punch, Francis stepped in with a short hook to put the culprit flat on his back. He was out for the count. The blow didn’t seem to be half the power Francis was capable of but completely incapacitated the wrongdoer.

Video of the incident has gone viral on social media, with some fearing criminal repercussions for Francis.

However, fans of the Londoner have vowed to start a GoFundMe page for the ex-boxer to cover legal costs if any police involvement comes from sorting out an unreasonable person.

Whatever you say about Julius Francis, he’s undoubtedly still got it.

Is there possibly room now for a Tyson exhibition rematch?
