Williams loses again, Larsen ‘Hammered’ as Szili is held to a draw

The 40 year-old, who last won against Alfred Cole in September 2011, was stopped for the tenth time by Rekowski, 35, in four rounds and looked every inch the journeyman in the process – with the Pole improving to 10-0 with a ninth KO victory.

Williams took hurtful punches in every round and was on his way to what would have been a painful eight round loss until the referee ended his misery in the fourth, despite the ‘Brixton Bomber’ enjoying some success in the third session.

Also on the night, Hungarian middleweight Istvan Szili (17-0-1) failed to win for the first time in his four-year ring stint after the judges were unable to split the 30 year-old and Turkish opponent Goekalp Oezekler (15-1-1).

Christian Hammer put in the most impressive performance on the night in knocking out Norweigian power-puncher Leif Larsen with some bombs of his own to claim a seventh round triumph.

25 year-old Hammer took control of the fight from the fifth round after both men had their moments in the first twelve minutes and put Larsen down in the sixth before ending the fight with a huge right in the seventh.
