Sulaiman hails Alvarez v Trout and Mayweather v Guerrero

Alvarez, 22, faces undefeated WBA belt-holder Austin Trout on April 20 in Texas, whilst Mayweather tackles mandatory Robert Guerrero on May in Las Vegas and Sulaiman believes the fans are in for a treat on both accounts.

“I believe that these two fights, Canelo Álvarez versus Austin Trout and the best of the best Floyd Mayweather against Robert Guerrero are two of the very best that could be promoted nowadays,” Sulaiman told World Boxing News.

“In the first fight next week in San Antonio, both have much to gain. Alvarez has the opportunity to prove to some of his detractors in Mexico that he really is one of the very best fighters today in the world, while Austin could prove that he really is major league.

“This will be the fight of a very good nature as fast boxer Trout comes up against a tough champion who combines boxing and punching in Alvarez.”

“In regards to Mayweather and Guerrero, this fight will have the special interest as the two fighters are fighting for the undisputed WBC championship.

“Floyd being the champion had to spend a couple of months in reclusion and as we looked for an interim champion, Guerrero won it and now he has trained as never before.

“I expect this fight to be very exciting and tough as Guerrero has the world to win and Floyd the world to lose.

“However, Floyd has been the unbeatable and is a great boxer-puncher who nobody has been able to defeat during all of his career. He is now rightly considered the top of all boxers of all divisions of the world and it should be an amazing fight.”
