Sam Soliman denies drug test allegations, sends in lawyers

German-based newspaper Bild reported that the 39 year-old had tested positive for a ‘designer drug’ in the wake of his unanimous points win at the ISS Dome in Dusseldorf, although Soliman in now legally pursuing the claims after issuing the following statement via his Twitter account.

“Drug allegations are complete nonsense and an insult. Anyone who knows me knows my views about drug cheats,” said Soliman.

“The matter is now in the hands of my lawyers and it will be pursued to the fullest extent possible. I won’t be commenting further.”

Soliman is due to fight compatriot Daniel Geale for the IBF world title in the summer if the two can agree terms, although these recent revelations have threatened to derail the Aussie’s hopes, which have prompted the public denial.

According to the original report, Soliman’s ‘B’ sample is now in for testing.
