Crawford wants Spence but considers other Charlo

Terence Crawford would consider a fight with Jermall Charlo instead of Jermell if a clash with Errol Spence Jr. cannot get over the line.

The WBO welterweight champion holds fixations on an undisputed clash with Spence. However, Jermall recently stated his willingness to move back down from 160 to 154 and battle Crawford.

“Bud” is receptive to the offer despite informing The DAZN Boxing Show that Spence remains his number one target.

Crawford wants Spence

“That’s the plan,” Crawford told DAZN. “I think the time right now is the best time because it’s for all the marbles.

“Errol Spence has got three of the titles. I’ve got one. It would be for the undisputed. There wouldn’t be any other champion in the division. I feel like this is the biggest moment for us two to fight.

“Styles make fights,” he added. “Me and Errol have got a different style. We fought Shawn Porter in two completely different styles. You never know.”

Charlo

Charlo threw his spanner in the works when talking to Brian Custer on The Last Stand Podcast.

“Terence Crawford, I’ll fight him,” Charlo revealed” “I’ll fight you, Terence. I’ll come back down to 154 to fight Terence.

“Y’all haven’t seen that Terence isn’t versatile like you think. Them Texas boys are different. It’s hot in Texas. We’re different. All that doesn’t matter. It’s a fight; a fight is going to break out.”

Crawford responded to Charlo: “Are you coming down to fight me at 154. Bro, I know you would. I believe you too. But yo brother is still a p***y.”

Spence may have to up his game to seal the Crawford fight before it’s too late. Earlier reports that the clash was a done deal are increasingly looking premature.

Dates towards the end of the year in Las Vegas would be the perfect time for the welterweight division’s most significant fight.
