Sulaiman talks ‘Superfly’, advises ‘Chocolatito’ Gonzalez to take his time before career decision
Via conference call WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán says September is such a spectacular month for boxing, since the Mayweather vs. McGregor has generated an incredible boost that has attracted the attention of millions.
Regarding last Saturday’s fights, Mauricio said it had been a slugfest for a fanfare fan fest urging:
“Cuadras vs. Estrada was a war, two Mexicans who gave 100 percent of themselves, keeping us on the edge of our seats. It was a clash of high emotions; a very close fight that was decided in the closing rounds. I believe that both were recognized by everyone.”
“By contrast WBC champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai defended his title with a spectacular knockout over Roman Gonzalez, and we must recognize his greatness, as we can not forget that he is the only Nicaraguan to be crowned in 4 different divisions.
“Personally, I was very worried to see how he fell to the canvas. Fortunately and after the corresponding medical review Roman left the hospital in very good spirits.
“At this point I believe that “Chocolatito” should rest for the remainder of the year, as we remember that the fights he has undertaken have been very grueling and I think that this division is too big for him.
“Roman is an idol and he certainly doesn’t need to prove anything. The decision he will make is solely up to him and his family.”
And now the great and electric atmosphere, building in Las Vegas towards Gennady Golovkin Vs Saul Alvarez, this Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena.
“This fight has elicited many emotions among the fans, as both fighters enjoy the affection and support of the public.I’m sure that it will be a war of strategies, power and ability, as both have great strengths. This a war where just a single winner will emerge to be considered the best middleweight in this era.”
He invited the public to follow this fight attentively, as these two boxers of the highest quality will celebrate Mexico with an outstanding contest.
