Despite UK reports of the event kicking off in London, the Los Angeles-based Staples Center is set to host the beginning of a whirlwind press tour to promote Floyd Mayweather’s clash with Conor McGregor.
Mayweather faces the UFC star in a bid to reach 50-0 on August 26 in Las Vegas and will start his bid to drum up support for the controversial bout in California.
More dates, potentially in New York, London or McGregor’s native Ireland, are set to be revealed imminently.
In a statement released on Friday, the Staples Center said: “On Tuesday, July 11th, Staples Center will open its doors to the Official Mayweather vs. McGregor World Tour, featuring Floyd “Money” Mayweather and “The Notorious” Conor McGregor, a multi-city press tour for their highly anticipated fight on August 26th in Las Vegas, NV and live on Showtime PPV.
