Watch: Tyson Fury, Manuel Charr involved in minor ‘altercation’

The 28 year-old, who recently stated (tongue in cheek that) he didn’t know if he’d be alive to see cousin Hughie contest as world title on May 6 in New Zealand, is enjoying a break with his wife Paris in the same country where he claimed the world crown.

Fury defeated Wladimir Klitschko to reach the summit of the sport in November 2015 but has since distanced himself from boxing in a bid to get his head straight.

As the Briton was filmed chatting to the public, Charr confronted him and decided to ask Fury for a fight. The words, ‘when I’m back – 100%’ can clearly be heard by Fury before the pair are parted in what seems to be a staged call-out.

A short time later, Fury posted a picture of the pair together after they had talked through their differences, although that didn’t stop speculation the pair could meet at some point in the future.

Charr was set to face Fury before the latter became a world champion, although injury meant the fight didn’t go ahead. A shooting incident then brought about a long absence for Charr in 2015 before two successful comeback fights.

It’s anyone’s guess if the initial confrontation has been manufactured to bring publicity to an imminent contest, although Fury is yet to begin any full on training since leaving the sport behind seventeen months ago.
