Taking on all comers, World Boxing Council middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin defends his WBC crown against Kell Brook in the main event at the O2 Arena in London, England.
The September 10th event is co-presented by Matchroom Boxing and K2 Promotions, to be broadcast live via Sky Sports Box Office and HBO World Championship Boxing.
Golovkin´s promoter, Tom Loeffler (K2 Promotions), speaking at this week’s press conference, said: “Gennady shouldn’t have a problem defeating Brook in the same manner he’s dealt with his last 22 rivals….by KO!
“In my opinion, there is no one who cuts off the Ring like Gennady does. It doesn’t matter the style Kell Brook brings to the table, it doesn’t matter if he is an orthodox, unorthodox or southpaw…as Gennady will seek, locate, lock on and land his power punches.
“Abel Sanchez has defined and imposed the right strategy and there is no one, but no one capable of defeating GGG.”
Brook will be climbing up two divisions, mounting the audacious challenge of a lifetime. ‘The Special One’ has built a damned fine record of 36-0, with 26 KO´s. While Golovkin has a stunning 35-0, 32 Ko´s record.
