Selby and Rigo speak up, form queue behind new champ Frampton

Frampton defeated Leo Santa Cruz via majority decision at the Barclays Center in New York and here’s what Selby a fellow title holder at 126 pounds, had to say:

“Look, it isn’t my nature to call anyone out. But I know that these guys are looking to fight me, so I will accept the offer with open hands. In the build up to this fight, Leo Santa Cruz says he’ll fight me too. So, I accept both challenges,” said the Welshman.

“I can clarify. Back home, Carl Frampton is a huge name. A fight between he and I would be bigger, that’s what I was saying.”

Cuban superstar Guillermo Rigondeaux also threw his hat into the ring to face Frampton after the Irishman moved up in weight rather than facing a mandatory bout against him.

“Congratulations to Carl Frampton. I hope now we can settle our differences. I am available to travel to your hometown and do it there,” said Rigo.

“I am not going to criticize Leo Santa Cruz. The kid has heart and he did all he could versus a guy that was obviously a better boxer.

“I would love to fight in Belfast myself,” he added.
