Matt McCarthy pitted against Nathan Graham on Sept 24

McCarthy managed by Terry Coulter and promoted by Goodwin Boxing will compete in his fourth eight rounder. He was scheduled to box Sonny Upton in a final eliminator in March this year but injury ruled him out. There are no doubt that providing he keeps winning title opportunities are not far away but first he has to get past the tough Graham.

Graham has fought four times for the area title winning the title against Kris Agyei-Dua in 2012 and wants to re-establish himself and obtain another crack at the title and sees McCarthy as the stumbling block to do this.

For McCarthy it is a chance to reinforce belief that he is one of the countries top Super-Welterweight prospects and march towards title opportunities later this year.

The McCarthy v Grahm bout is part of an action packed 16 fight card with three titles on the line. Andrew “The Goose” Joicey takes on Jamie Arlain for the British Challenge Belt at Lightweight whilst Josh Nelson takes on undefeated Akeem Ennis-Brown from Swindon for the Super-Lightweight version.

Bradley Smith has his first title action when he competes for the International Challenge Belt at Super-Featherweight.

Former Southern Are title challenger Joel “Yakka” McIntyre, light heavyweight sensation Arfan “The Major” Iqbal and Dan Dan Keenan head the undercard.

A sensational night of boxing ahead with great value for money. Tickets for September 24 are available at www.goodwinboxing.co.uk or www.iboxingtickets.com
