Fight updates: Glowacki v Usyk / Wake v Guzman / Wilder v Arreola

An agreement between both parties was reached in midweek for the fight to be staged in Poland, with dates on the 10th or 17th of the month currently shortlisted to be confirmed in the near future.

At super-bantamweight, number one contender Shingo Wake has secured the EDION Arena in Osaka for his long-awaited IBF title shot on July 20. Wake was set to challenge Carl Frampton for the red belt until the Belfast man decided to move up in weight and the Japanese boxer will now take on undefeated Jonathan Guzman.

In an impressive performance last time out, Guzman halted Daniel Rosas in eight rounds to keep up his 100% KO ratio through 21 bouts and will go into the fight as favourite to upset Wake in his native country.

Finally, WBC heavyweight ruler Deontay Wilder is ready to confirm a fourth defense of his championship in Birmingham, Alabama on July 16. ‘The Bronze Bomber’ will be pitched in against perennial contender Chris Arreola for the encounter – which replaces his collapsed mandatory contest with Alexander Povetkin.

Wilder was due to meet Povetkin on May 21 in Russia, although the ex-WBA title holder tested positive for meldonium days before the fight and is currently under investigation by the World Boxing Council.
