Tyson Fury will face Wladimir Klitschko for the second time on home soil at Manchester Arena on July 9, trainer and uncle Peter has confirmed.

The fight has been months in the making as Fury basked in the glory of his stunning victory over Klitschko in Germany last November, although a rematch clause was always going to be adhered to.

Fury, 27, had been hoping to bring the rematch to home soil as a thank you to his fans and now a massive summer date is finally in front of him.

Veteran Klitschko is hell bent on gaining revenge in the bout and has been preparing whilst Fury capititalized on his new status as the divisional and the 40 year-old will make a return to the UK for the first time since 2000.

It was sixteen years ago when the world title hopeful fought on the Lennox Lewis v Frans Botha undercard in London when ‘Dr Steelhammer’ brutalized Monte Barret in seven rounds.

Barret hit the floor five times in the fight but it still wasn’t enough to land Kltischko a shot at Lewis and his unified titles at the time.

Lewis would go on to defend his belts in the US against David Tua, whilst Klitschko dethroned Chris Byrd for the WBO version in Germany three months later.
