It has been announced that MGM managed Martin Murray will fight on the Anthony Crolla v Ismael Barroso bill on 7th May in Manchester.

The four-time world title challenger will be chief support to the WBA lightweight title bout and is looking to put his recent disappointments behind him and move on to a potential huge fight against George Groves at some point this year.

Murray´s promoter Eddie Hearn has confirmed that talks have been held about a potential fight and negotiations continue.

“I´m really happy to be fighting again in Manchester,” Murray said. “And it´s the first time after my world title fights that I have come straight back into 12 rounds, I can´t wait for it!

“There are some great fights out there for me so I´m hoping they can happen. But first, I have to win on the 7th May so I am completely focused on getting that job done.

“I´ve always enjoyed fighting at the Manchester Arena and I´ve always put in a quality performance so looking forward to doing the same and putting on a good show for the fans.”
