The Freak of the Week, The One with all the Glory: Tyson Fury

The 26-year-old is a charismatic young champion that isn’t afraid to speak his mind, much the same as a talented Olympic champion from Louisville, Kentucky, who was way back in the 1960s.

Fans haven’t seen anyone in the mold of Fury ruling the top division before, someone who raps ‘The Freak of the Week’ just minutes before his ring walk and serenades his opponent by singing ‘The Wind Beneath My Wings’ during the media workout.

Lyrics in the latter song like, ‘You were the one with all the glory’ have definitely rung true for Fury, who certainly is a breath of fresh air and needs to curb some of his controversial comments to take advantage of his new-found position fully.

As a four-belt world champion, Fury holds worldwide fame and has the opportunity to capitalize on a financial windfall that comes with being the most recognized fighter on the planet.

As Floyd Mayweather has now departed the scene, Fury can build instantly in the WBN Pound for Pound Top 20 should he decide to face the best around in his upcoming defenses.

TYSON FURY CHALLENGERS

Trainer and uncle Peter Fury told WBN recently that Tyson would not shirk any mandatory challengers. However, most die-hard purists would want Fury to spurn all else and meet WBC titleholder Deontay Wilder first up in mid-2016.

Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder, then potentially compatriots Anthony Joshua or David Haye, are the fights the public will demand. After dispatching Klitschko in such a fine style – there isn’t anyone the new ruler should fear moving forward.

Furthermore, a rematch clause insisted upon by Klitschko may now fall by the wayside as retirement looms.
