Steven Pearce: Adam Little win would be best of my career

The 31 year-old travels to Little’s hometown of Blackpool on 12th December to take on the current Champion.

Although Pearce believes he has been in with better fighters than Little, he concedes that he hasn’t beaten anyone as good as the undefeated 24 year-old.

“Little is a very good boxer,” Pearce told www.uko-boxing.com. “He has a lot of skill and I watched a lot of him when he was with Ricky Hatton. He’s always impressed me but, with respect, I believe I have been in with better.

“Sam Eggington, who I’ve been sparring in the build-up to this one, is a better fighter than Adam. He’s the British and Commonwealth Champion. I’ve been in with Bradley Skeete and Glen Foot too.

“However, I have to say that, if I beat Adam, it will be the best win of my career. I haven’t beaten anyone of his calibre yet but, at the same time, he’s never been in with someone like me.”

Pearce, a former Midlands Area Champion, believes the two contrasting styles will illuminate Blackpool’s Hilton Hotel. He believes it will be a classic case of brawler versus boxer and he is obviously hoping the former will come out on top.

“I have to take the fight to him. I’m not going to outbox him. He’s faster than me, his footwork is better than mine, he’s accurate; but I can hit a lot harder than him.

“It’s going to be one of those fights where he will either outbox me for ten rounds or I’ll take it to him and he won’t here the final bell. One thing I know is it’s going to be exciting.”

Prospects 2, a Neil Marsh and Car Greaves Co-Promotion, also features Liverpool’s undefeated Robbie Davis Jr take on Sheffield’s Ryan Hardy.
