Kris George to return to in ring action against Indonesian Champ on Oct 31 as Heri Andriyanto signed for TGW & Smithy Bring the Big Fights 11.

The former WBA Oceania Champion is out to make amends following his first career loss against China’s Xu Chan earlier in the year on TGW & Smithy Bring the Big Fights 10.

Standing in the opposite corner of George will be Indonesian National champion Heri Andriyanto. The duo will meet in a five round welterweight bout.

“I’m excited by the opportunity to return to the ring on October 31,” Kris George said.

“This is a tough fight and hopefully one that I can win.

“My last loss is in the past so I’m only looking ahead and I know I’ve learnt from that fight.

“I’ll be a better fighter come October 31.

“Heri has a lot more experience than me, he’s had more wins than I’ve had career fights so it’s a big challenge by one I know I’m up for,” George said.

Heri Andriyanto has fought as a pro 43 times for 21 wins and 2 draws.Among his achievements – two Indonesian National titles. He’s also proven himself on the International stage challenging for Youth world titles and open Regional belts

This year alone he has fought on five occasions in Indonesia,China,Thailand and Japan.

“You can’t buy experience and that’s what Heri has,” Brendon Smith said.

“I saw him fight Bai Shan Bo in China last month and he went the distance in a six round encounter.

“Bai Shan Bo is undefeated and highly regarded in China.

“Heri has also fought the likes of Renee Ganoy who at the time knocked out every Australian lightweight except Michael Katsidis.

“Heri went the distance with Thai superstar Prawet Singwancha for the WBC International title – Singwancha was thirty wins from thirty two fights at that stage of his career.

“Heri Andriyanto has proven he’s World class,” Smith said.

Kris George will give away plenty of experience in this five rounder. The Silencer has a career record of seven wins and one loss. Overall he’s boxed 31 career rounds.

Compared to his opponent who has clocked up 300 career rounds. However in George’s favour he has proven himself in his eight fights to date. He’s won a Queensland State title and a WBA Oceania belt. Five of his wins have come by way of knock out.

“Krissy doesn’t have the experience Heri has, there is no denying that,” George’s trainer Craig Monagle said.

“However Kris has proven he’s up to World class and he’s shown he has the power to change fights very quickly.

“We’ve worked on a few things since the last fight in June and I’m sure it’ll show come October 31.

“We have immense respect for Heri and justifiably so,but I think after this fight Heri will have huge respect for Kris.

“I think Kris can make a statement against Heri Andriyanto,” Monage said.

This fight is a great addition to an already jam packed card for October 31 headlined by Will Young’s Australian title fight, Herman Ene-Purcell’s international heavyweight bout and the middleweight clash between prospects Robbie Fletcher and Brent Moore..
