Avni Yildrim, Bernard Donfack to square-off for fringe WBC belt
Turkish fighter, Avni Yildirim (6-0-0, 4 Ko’s), who is WBC International Silver light heavyweight Champion, defends his crown with the pride of a Sultan against Bernard Donfack (22-12-3, 11 KO’s), from Cameroon on October 11 at the Shiraz EventHalle, Herne,Nordrhein-Westfalen in Germany.
Yildirim is aware of the importance this match has, as the prestigious Silver International title is an important step towards a fight against the world Champion Canadian Adonis Stevenson.
He’s fresh from defeating former world Champion Glen Johnson, in August for the title – which was vacant. He said: “I am sure that with a great effort I can become world champion.
“I have to keep working in the gym because there is always something new to learn. I am happy to be fighting for the WBC International Silver championship. It’s an extra motivation for victory.”
