Holyfield rumoured for stint on UK reality show ‘Big Brother’

The 51 year-old, who finally stepped away from the ring last year after 27 years as a pro, will supposedly line-up against a host of other names from the ‘celebrity’ world as the show kicks off in Britain on January 3.

One of America’s most-loved fighters, the former Olympian claimed world titles in several weight-classes during his career, although fans outside boxing will be familiar with Holyfield as the man who had his ear bitten off by Mike Tyson.

Holyfield is not the first boxer to feature on such platforms as the likes of Joe Calzaghe, David Haye and Floyd Mayweather Jr. have all participate in some form of reality TV in the past few years.

Some of the names being mentioned to join Holyfield in the house are N-Dubz rapper Dappy, Blue singer Lee Ryan, glamour queen Katie Price and controversial comedian Jim Davidson – who pulled out at the last minute in 2013.

Last year’s winner was Charlotte Crosby from MTV series ‘Geordie Shore,’ a play on the successful US version ‘Jersey Shore’ as she took the crown ahead of 5ive band member Abz Love.
