Theophane faces Osiobe at 143lbs on Friday night in Washington, Love returns

The 33 year-old will be seeking his first victory with the pound for pound king following his gutsy performance against Pablo Cesar Cano on the Mayweather v Canelo undercard in September and should have no problems overturning his recent fortunes against Osiobe.

A predominant lightweight, Osiobe has agreed a 143lb catchweight with the Briton for the contest – which will take place at Little Creek Casino Resort in Shelton, Washington on a stacked ‘TMT’ card.

“2013 has been a vintage year for me. Time to finish it in the style it deserves,” Theophane told World Boxing News.

“Osiobe is an experienced fighter and has been in with some good boxers, therefore our fight has all the makings of a good one.”

Also featuring on the night will be Mayweather protégé’s Mickey Bey and Badou Jack, whilst the event will see the return of highly-rated middleweight J’Leon Love after a controversial seven-month absence.

Love, 26, was suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for testing postive for a banned substance in the wake of his debatable split decision victory over Gabriel Rosado in May and now takes on Philadelphian Lajuan Simon.
