Baysangurov stripped of WBO belt, Andrade in line for vacant title

Zaurbek Baysangurov is no longer a world champion after the WBO decided to strip the Russian of his light-middleweight belt after the 28 year-old failed to meet his mandatory obligations.

The former IBO belt holder was due to meet American Demetrius Andrade in a mandatory defence later this year after promoters K2 successfully tabled a purse bid of $501,000, although was forced to pull out and the WBO have now acted accordingly.

Andrade, 25, is now put forward to fight for the vacant title in his next fight, which could be against Vanes Martirosyan in November if the WBO sanction the contest for the title.
