Troubled lightweight contender Scott Harrison will face no further action following an alleged incident over the New Year after being cleared of all charges in a Scottish court yesterday.
The veteran fighter, 35, was facing possible prison time in the UK after previously serving a sentence in Spain, until a key witness was said to have admitted that she may have ‘exaggerated’ her initial statement.
Harrison was arrested earlier this year for ‘barging his way’ into his ex-girlfriend’s home last December, although under cross examination, Stacey Gardner stated that she had let the boxer into her home voluntarily.
The contradicting evidence provided by Miss Gardner left enough ‘considerable doubt’ in the mind of the residing Sheriff Alayne Swanson and Harrison walked free from the court to resume his ring career.
‘The Real McCoy’ is now expected to announce a return sometime in the next few weeks after suffering a first defeat since his latest comeback against WBO European lightweight champion Liam Walsh last time out.
