Alexander ready for Matthysse, eyes Bradley rematch

“Training is going great, Alexander told World Boxing News. ” I have just arrived in Colorado and am about go to work.

“I know he (Matthysse) is a hard puncher, but I will make sure it’s nothing for me to worry about. I’m am gonna be ready.”

The 24 year-old was stripped of his IBF belt in the run up the Timothy Bradley fight late last year for not defending against number one contender Kaizer Mabuza and then lost his WBC title to Bradley in January via a controversial points defeat.

Alexander and his corner complained of excessive use of the head by the WBO champion, which saw the bout stopped in the tenth round. The scorecards were then totalled and gave “Desert Storm” a unanimous victory, but the Missouri fighter has vowed to reclaim his belts.

“I would love to rematch with Bradley, he knows it wasn’t my best performance the last time around.

“I doubt if he would take the fight anyway though, but I plan on getting my title back one way or another, starting this year,” added the former champion.
