Fowler, who fights in the light-middleweight division, has a record of 4-0 (3 KO’s) in the paid ranks thus far. He will have the opportunity to improve his record, with two bouts on high profile shows a month apart.
The 27 year-old is first out on the undercard of Dillian Whyte’s WBC eliminator bout against Lucas Browne March 24th, and providing he is victorious, a homecoming fight in his city of Liverpool will be the reward on Amir Khan’s highly anticipated April 23rd comeback show.
Discussing the bouts and his preparation, Fowler exclusively told World Boxing News: ” I’ve got two fights ahead and it’s very exciting, there are big nights ahead for me so I just need to keep my head down and keep working.
“I live down Rotherham now, I live in a little flat down here, there’s literally no distractions here at all.”
Fowler is taking his ‘Machine’ moniker very literally when it comes to his preparation. “I get up in the morning, go to the gym, go home have some lunch and go to the gym again and go home and rest, I’m living like a boxer and hopefully it will pay off,” He said.
The ex-Team GB member is a relative novice to the pro ranks, but has proved in his extensive amateur career he is a quality operator, so wants to progress up the ranks quickly. Discussing his next opponent who is yet TBA, he said: “Eddie (Hearn) said a step-up.
“They’re going to put me in with someone with a decent record – whoever fancies the job, they need to find someone who is willing to box six or eight rounds with me.
“Every fight I want to box someone better than the last so I want to move up, move up the rankings and box better people, I’ll leave that to Dave (Coldwell) and Eddie (Hearn).
Fowler in his own words; ‘doesn’t care who he fights’ as he is confident in his qualities and preparation.
“I’ve got a lot of power, a lot of grit and determination, I haven’t shown that yet because I’ve had it all my own way, but when someone does come to fight me you will see the best of Anthony Fowler,” concluded the Liverpudlian.
