Former welterweight world champion Kell Brook is stirring the pot for a potential UK super-fight with Amir Khan by stating he may head to Liverpool to witness his rival's debut under the Matchroom banner.

Khan, 31, joined Brook's promoter Eddie Hearn this week in a bid to eventually secure a meeting between the two and is set to fight at the Echo Arena on April 21.

Brook isn't surprised about Khan's move and intends to mix things up in order to make sure the fight goes ahead before 2019.

Just two weeks prior to his own comeback in Sheffield on March 3, Brook also stated he may break off his own preparations for the night in order to be on hand to run the rule over Khan's return.

"He hasn't boxed for a long time and Matchroom make things happen and make big fights in Britain, so I wasn't at all shocked," Brook told Sky Sports.

"It is a bit strange but that's where it will end. We have got the same promoter and that's it. Now he fights for Matchroom, finally we will see me and him in the ring.

"And it's very possible I will be ringside. He was in Sheffield for one of my fights, so I could well be there, now we're both Matchroom.

"The fireworks could start. I might turn up for that, I might even jump in the ring and lay a chocolate brownie on him.

"No strawberries... chocolate brownies only."

The pair have been linked to a grudge fight for around five years, and if all goes well and both remain undefeated from now on, a massive paycheck could await Brook and Khan in the winter of this year.
