Chagaev, who defended his title recently with a first round win over Francesco Pianeta, told WBN last week that he would relish a rematch with Klitschko – who defeated him in 2009 – once the Fury fight is out of the way.
Outspoken Fury, 26, gets his chance due to an undefeated record including wins over Steve Cunningham and compatriot Dereck Chisora, although Chagaev still believes the Briton has his work cut out for him in what is his first world title fight.
“Anything can happen in a boxing ring – especially in the heavyweight division. Tyson Fury is very tall and might have the physical ability to cause some problems for Wladimir; which is something only very few fighters can do,” Chagaev told World Boxing News.
“In addition to that, he has an unusual style and switches his stance every now and then. But after all I think Wladimir will win and be victorious in the fight.”
Klitschko v Fury will happen in front of an expected crowd of almost 55,000 in the fall after an agreement was reached at the twelfth hour to avoid a purse bid.
The late arrangement meant the fight avoided heading to the UK or even Russia due to a massive bid from Vlad Hrunov and effectively gives Klitschko home advantage.
