Crawford drops Dulorme three times, claims second WBO belt; Texas results

The American added the vacant WBO super lightweight title to his previous reign as 135lb champion and had Dulorme on the canvas three times for good measure.

After taking two rounds to get going, Crawford began to control the fight from the third and a superb one-two combination in the sixth spelt the end for Dulorme.

Crawford wobbled Dulorme before chasing him down until he touched the floor and would repeat the feat twice until the referee waved off the fight.

Dulorme, 25, has now lost two of 24 bouts, whilst ‘Bud’ Crawford remains untouched in 26 contests.

Unbeaten super featherweight Ismael Muwendo kept his perfect record intact with an eight-round majority decision over the rugged Rolando Chinea.

The 26 year-old ‘Sharp Shooter’ possessed the better skills of the two previously undefeated fighters and ended Chinea’s 11-fight streak 79-73 and 78-74 on the scorecards. A third official just saw it 76-76, although Muwendo was a worthy winner in the end.

US-based Russian light heavyweight Medzhid Bektemirov carded a low-key victory over journeyman Michael Gbenga to improve his C.V to 16-0.

The result was never in doubt from the first bell as Bektemirov saw out an 80-72 (twice) and 79-73 victory without seeing third gear. With yet another loss, Ghanaian Gbenga, 35, drops to 20-19.

In a slight upset, super welterweight Benjamin Whitaker out-pointed Skender Halili 80-72, 78-74 and 79-73 to end the Kosovo-born Texan’s undefeated record.
