Eddie Hearn had admitted he’s no closer to securing an opponent for Anthony Joshua with just days left of his own deadline.
The Matchroom boss desires to begin the promotion of Joshua’s next fight this week but finds himself struggling to nail down any foe on either side of the Atlantic.
Currently in the frame are Dillian Whyte and Jarrell Miller. Whilst Hearn remains hopeful of landing Deontay Wilder or Tyson Fury for April 13.
Hearn may consider scrapping plans for Joshua v Whyte 2 for a stateside debut against Miller in New York should a huge name evade him.
Outlining the current situation, Hearn is keeping his hopes up that Wilder or Fury get in contact. Or that Whyte is willing to be more receptive to what has been described as a ‘lowball’ offer.
“It’s important at this point for everyone to realize there is a big difference between fighters wanting to face Anthony Joshua and fighters simply saying they want to,” Hearn told Sportsmail.
“We have made offers to the major heavyweight contenders. We will be making more offers in the next couple of days to finalize a decision over Joshua’s next fight in the next 10 days.
“Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury, and Dillian Whyte all have the opportunity to get in the ring at Wembley in April. They can fight for Joshua’s four world titles. If you think you can beat him, our message is simple; come and get it. Who really wants it? This is your chance.

“Is Wilder bluffing the public when he says he wants this fight?
“If he truly wants it, it’s there, and he knows it is there because we have told them. If he doesn’t want it, he can rematch with Tyson Fury or take on Dominic Breazeale. Good luck to him.
“But if he has ambitions to be undisputed champion, as Joshua does, then the opportunity is there now,” he added.
Joshua had the chance to face Wilder in September but opted instead to battle Alexander Povetkin. This decision has since come back to haunt the British superstar after Wilder fought Fury, and the pair created history.
Wilder v Fury II is on the cards this year, whilst Joshua will hope to sort out his next move by the end of the month.
