World Boxing News made a point of fully introducing boxing fans to the new heavyweight on the block in six-foot nine-inch Antonio Mireles.
The 270-pound juggernaut stopped Dennys Reyes in their four-round heavyweight fight at round two. The bout took place on the Isaac Dogboe undercard.
Heavyweight blows
In round two, Mireles dropped Reyes with a body shot followed by a left to the head. He then finished off the fight by dropping Reyes with a right hand.
The referee stopped the fight at 2:19, but the sound of the punches from a ringside Top Rank camera was excruciating.
Each time they landed on Reyes, they made a torturing sound. Mireles is already talked about as the real deal by promoter Bob Arum.

Mireles measures up to the heavyweight champ
Des Moines, IA’s fighter, is 4-0 with four knockouts. He out-weighed Reyes by forty pounds [228.6 lbs]. The Finley, MN is now 3-3.
The exact size as Tyson Fury with a sleeker frame, Mireles is tipped to cause devastation on his rise through the ranks.
Can he cut it at the top? – We won’t know that until he reaches the rankings phase of his Arum-predicted title mission.
Mireles was one of five members of the Split-T Management roster who came home with significant victories in as many bouts on Saturday.
At The Grand Casino in Hinckley, Minnesota, four Split-T fighters had their hands raised on an ESPN+ streamed card.
