Sulaiman, Canelo agree on WBC title status versus Golovkin
Canelo Alvarez WILL fight for the World Boxing Council middleweight title after the Mexican smoothed things over with President Mauricio Sulaiman.
Eager to have the former WBC super-welterweight champion sanctioned, Canelo, Oscar De La Hoya and Sulaiman put past disagreements to one side when the trio met up in Los Angeles this week.
Despite rebuffing the offer for the first contest, Canelo has accepted the chance to win the WBC middleweight belt should he be victorious against Golvokin on May 5 in Las Vegas.
