The super-lightweight, currently signed with Barry McGuigan, looked a bit too eager at times but used his superior quality to secure a 79-72, 78-73 (twice) victory despite losing a point for a low blow.

Featherweight Leduan Barthelemy pushed to 12-0 with a six-round decision over Jesus Aguinaga, whilst welterweight Herbert Acevedo did similar by taking a points win over Chris Singleton.

Earlier, Jerry Perez made a successful pro debut with a first round knockout of Javier Cepeda, whilst Antonio Santa Cruz carded a decision win over Victor Torres through four rounds at bantamweight.
