Crawford overhauls Frampton in 2016 Fighter of the Year race

Golovkin won the award three years in a row between 2013 and 2015, whilst Crawford is nominated for the second time in succession.

As ‘GGG’ doesn’t feature in this year’s list of six having beaten Dominic Wade and Kell Brook in 2015, the likes of Crawford and Carl Frampton are set to seize the opportunity.

Frampton hit the top after the first day, although Crawford now holds 38% of the vote as Frampton drops back to 24%. Vasyl Lomachenko is third on 16%, whilst Manny Pacquiao comes next on 13%.

Roman Gonzalez (5%) and current pound for pound number one Andre Ward (4%) are seemingly out of the running already.
