‘New Blood’ to showcase Hobson quartet on Dec 2 in Sheffield

‘New Blood’, which takes place at Sheffield’s Bramall Lane on Friday December 2, will feature ‘Steel City’ fighters Tommy Frank, Joss Paul, Kyle Yousaf, and Nicolie Campbell, who are all looking to make an impact on the British scene in 2017.

AJ Hobson, who is helping to promote the show alongside his uncle, Dennis Hobson, is confident fans will be watching some future champions, and says giving a platform to these emerging young fighters is the perfect way to see out the year.

“I’m excited about these all of these fighters,” explained AJ. “Tommy Frank is from Glyn Rhodes’ SBC Sheffield gym, he trains alongside Sam Sheedy and he’s the next one on the conveyor belt of young talent to come from that gym.

“At the minute in Sheffield, Glyn’s gym is producing the best young talent coming through, and Tommy is just the next one. Tommy’s a thinker, he doesn’t waste any shots and he’s quick. I can defintely see him reaching British tiitle level, and because he’s at the smaller weigths that opporunity will come quicker.

“Joss Paul is a big cruiserweight, he stopped his opponent on our last show. He’s exciting, knocks people out and I’m looking forward to watching how he performs. Once he gets this one out the way, he could be in title fights himself soon.

“This show is about young, upcoming talent becasue there’s a lot coming through in Sheffield and we’re trying to build a new platform for them. Bramall Lane is a good venue, it’s an intimate dinner show and this will be a great atmosphere.”
