The World Boxing Council confirms that the lightweight title will be disputed by the Montenegrin Dejan Zlaticanin (21-0, 14 KOs) and the Bolivian Franklin Mamani (21-2-1, 12 KOs) on Saturday June 11, in the “Turning Stone Resort & Casino” in Verona, New York.

With Jorge Linares being elevated to ‘Champion in Recess’ because of injury, Zlaticanin v Mamani is settled for the full title at 135 pounds and not interim as first thought.

In another match on the same card, the Russian Ruslan “The Siberian Rocky” Provodnikov (25-4, 18 KOs) faces former world title challenger John Molina (28-6, 23 KOs).

The function will be broadcast by SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING®, live on SHOWTIME (9 pm ET / 6 pm PT).

The fighter ranked 2, Emiliano Marsili, became ill, which opened this opportunity.

The WBC accepted the nearest challenger available Franklin Mamani will replace the Italian Marsili. Mamani was reported more than ready to take on this risk/opportunity fight against Montenegrin fighter, with extensive experience.
