Kelly enjoyed some early success against Smith, although the superior quality of the champion eventually shone through in the mid-rounds.

The returning Liam Williams added the British super welterweight title to his Commonwealth version with a crushing win over Kris Carslaw. Williams was back in action having been told his career could be over due to a hand injury, but showed no signs of any problems in dealing with Carslaw.
A big attack at the end of the first round had Carslaw down, although it was a stunning jab early in the second that completely ended the argument.
